Usman Hashmi, FCCA, CPA

Managing Partner

Usman Hashmi is the Managing Partner of Proactive Consultancy Group, with more than 20 years of experience spanning taxation, finance, business advisory and professional services across the United Kingdom, Canada and international markets.

Usman is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta in Canada.

He provides strategic leadership to the firm and is closely involved in significant client engagements, particularly those involving complex VAT matters, tax disputes and substantial historic VAT positions.

Over the course of his career, Usman has developed extensive experience in analysing complex commercial arrangements and their tax implications, coordinating technical reviews, developing case strategies and overseeing engagements with tax authorities. His experience includes matters involving VAT recovery, disputed VAT treatments, historic claims and technically complex transactions.

As Managing Partner, Usman is responsible for the firm’s overall strategic direction, service development and quality of client delivery. He works closely with the firm’s specialist team on major engagements, combining detailed technical analysis with a commercially focused approach.

Usman also brings extensive executive, commercial and governance experience to his role.
